Students Rally to Support Gospel Outreach

Last week, God used thousands of BJU students, faculty, staff, parents, alumni and friends to raise over $126,000 for the Bible Conference fundraiser. Thanks to the generosity within our community—and the creativity of our students—these funds will support two important mission projects:

• Matt Barfield and his efforts to distribute the Gospel during the upcoming FIFA World Cup

• Fellow alumni, Josh and Natalie (Ring) Perkins, as they assist in building a plane for their fellow missionaries serving in Papua New Guinea

Thank you for partnering with the students in this exercise of faith and generosity and for your desire to support the spread of the gospel around the world!

Update: BJU's Centennial Celebration

Planning for our Centennial Celebration is well underway, and the steering committee has chosen to use the existing framework of the University’s calendar to allow celebration opportunities to be woven throughout the entire ’26-’27 academic year.

Through Opening Exercises, Heritage Day, Homecoming (in Nov), Christmas, Bible Conference, Commencement and many moments in between, the year will clearly reflect not only gratitude for God’s faithfulness but also our appreciation for our BJU community. We desire to say thank you to our graduates—the outcome of the mission. We want to say thank you to our students and their parents. And we will certainly take time to express appreciation to our faculty, staff and retirees whom God has used to carry out the mission of BJU. You’ll see this appreciation expressed in published stories, recognitions, awards and at events throughout the year.

The tentative date for the launch of the BJU Centennial Celebration website is early summer, but more details will be shared here in The Voice in the upcoming months.

New Dean's Legacy Connection to BJU

In his new position as Dean of the School of Fine Arts and Communication, Dr. Michael Moore sat down with the BJU Alumni Relations Department to explore the vital role the arts play in the transformative student experience at Bob Jones University. During this interview, he also reflected on his legacy connection to the University and highlighted how the school’s faculty are equipping students to pursue their higher calling—both in their craft and in their lives.

Engineering at BJU: Growing and Future Focused

By Jeff King (Head of the Engineering Department; Retired Naval Officer and Former Permanent Military Professor at the US Naval Academy)

I’m grateful for the opportunity to serve alongside my colleagues here at Bob Jones University as we prepare students to meet both professional demands and their higher calling as followers of Christ.

BJU’s engineering program continues to thrive. With five concentrations—aerospace, civil, computer, electrical and mechanical—our enrollment has grown by more than 35% in the past five years. Much of this momentum began with the launch of our civil engineering concentration in 2018. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, this field ranks among the top three engineering specialties with strong projected growth—a trend fueled by the universal need for clean water, sanitation, transportation networks and resilient infrastructure.

Given the global demand for civil engineers, this area of study presents a special opportunity for BJU’s mission. Not only will our graduates have strong career prospects, but they will also have unique avenues for ministry both in the US and abroad. The field opens doors for service in regions where traditional missionary access may be limited, while also placing Christian engineers in sectors deeply influenced by secular perspectives.

As this concentration continues to grow, we need a civil engineering professor to join our team.

How you can help:

• Please pray the Lord directs the right individual to join our faculty.
• If you know someone passionate about mentoring future Christian engineers, encourage them to apply through BJU Careers on BJU’s website

Thank you for your continued support of BJU and the students we are privileged to train. We are excited for what lies ahead—and grateful to partner with alumni and friends like you as we continue to grow.

Exclusion of MLM and P2P Selling

As the Alumni Relations department at Bob Jones University, we prioritize integrity and transparency within our community. To maintain these values and ensure the best experience for all users, we are unable to list Multi-Level Marketing (MLM) or Peer-to-Peer (P2P) links in the small business section of our Resource web page.

What does this mean?

  1. No MLM: We do not allow any business models that involve recruiting others into a hierarchical structure where compensation is based on the recruitment efforts of those below them rather than on actual sales or services.
  2. No P2P Selling: We do not support the direct selling of goods or services from one individual to another without proper oversight or regulation. This includes but is not limited to direct person-to-person sales, often conducted through social networks or other informal channels.

Why have we made this decision?

  • Protection of Users: We aim to protect our alumni from potential financial harm or exploitation that can be associated with MLM.
  • Maintaining Trust: By excluding MLM and P2P selling, we maintain the trust and credibility of our community, ensuring a safe and reliable environment for all participants.

If you come across any content or activity on our platform (including social media sites) that violates these guidelines, please report it immediately. Together, we can foster a community built on fairness, trust, and mutual respect.

Thank you for being a part of the BJU Alumni community.
