2022 LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD

This award is presented to a BJU graduate who has at least 30 years of post-graduation ministry/work/service and has displayed outstanding Christian service, accomplishments, and impact on their sphere of influence.

2023 Lifetime Achievement Award Recipients:
Bob and Bonnie Bixby

Bob Bixby graduated from the Institute of Christian Service in 1967 and  Bonnie graduated with a degree in Christian Education in 1969.  While attending BJU, they met at a local church and began dating.  In 1969, after Bonnie finished her degree, they were married and 9 days later were accepted with Baptist Mid Missions. Both Bob and Bonnie were individually directed by God to give their lives to vocational ministry.  Bob, having spent his childhood years in New Mexico, was initially focused on mission work in Mexico.  But the Lord used various means to re-direct their steps away from Mexico

2023 Lifetime Achievement Award Recipient:
Cleo Campbell

After graduating from BJU in 1960, Cleo Campbell was hired as a high school math teacher in Maryland.  She earned her master’s degree in education in 1964.  Throughout her years of teaching, Cleo became known for her extraordinary methods of making math approachable for her students.  She was labeled a teacher’s teacher because of her ability and willingness to help other teachers become more skilled in their craft and calling as educators.  During her career, Cleo was a classroom teacher, an assistant principal, a contributing author of algebra textbooks, the county mathematics supervisor, and a member of the county school
